Introducing: Bella Dahl

One of our new favorite brands has just recently hit the racks at PB&J Boutique and we couldn’t be more excited. Bella Dahl was established in 2010 in Los Angeles. Their brand has such soft materials and relaxed pieces that pull in that Southern California style. From buttons ups to skirts, Bella Dahl has it all. Here at PB&J Boutique we had a little fun pairing some of our new items from the brand and styling them together for you! Enjoy 🙂

With spring weather just around the corner, the Cala Lilly Tank is such a lightweight piece that we are crazy about! The blouse has light vertical stripes of pink throughout that are so faint but create the perfect pink color. Here we have it paired with a light wash boyfriend style jean.

For this outfit we put together both a blouse and a pair of pants from Bella Dahl. The Frosted Tulip Button Down is a sheer top that can be worn with the sleeves rolled up for some of those warmer days. The Cargo Jogger pant are oh so comfortable and stylish! Tuck in a blouse with these pants and wear a pair of sandals and you are set for the spring.

For another full Bella Dahl inspired outfit we have paired together the Lavender Cloud Button Down (which is one of our all time favorites!) and the Side Button Skirt. We put the skirt a little more high waisted and tied the button down top just above it. The hints of blue from the top and skirt worked so well together. Again, so in love with the softness of all of these pieces.

The detail on the Truffle Button Back blouse is just so darling. It’s such a simple tee but the button back gives it some extra style. We just love how there’s also a little slit in the back where the buttons end to show more of jeans you pair with it.

We had so much fun styling our new pieces and hope we inspired you for some new outfits for this spring. Be sure to check out our new arrivals!

February Inspired Outfits

It’s finally the month of February, and only eight more days until Valentine’s Day. Our shop is filling up with the most perfect pieces to wear for the month. From soft pink tones to brilliant reds, we have just what you might be looking for this season. We have put together a few of our favorite outfits to wear throughout the month for multiple occasions!

For those colder, rainy days throughout February the Hunter Carmine is such a wonderful piece to wear on its own or to layer up under a jean jacket. Its bright beautiful red color is so vibrant to give you a pop of color.

Another darling top we have in the store is the Taylor Tie Front Tunic from the brand Show Me Your MuMu. It is so sweet with a cute little tie in the front and buttons that run down the middle of the blouse. Perfect blouse for brunching.

For a fancier date night look we have the Lacey Black Dress, which is absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day. The lacy detail gives it a romantic touch. Throw on some heels and red lipstick and you will be completely set!

If it’s a bit colder where you are celebrating, the Black and White Blazer pairs perfectly with any black dress to keep you a bit warmer! This Blazer is a wonderful piece to add to your wardrobe because it pairs nicely with just about anything.

Any outfit isn’t complete without some fun accessories like these earrings from Vanessa Mooney to tie everything together. It’s all about the little details that make the perfect outfits.

Here we have the little black dress with the blazer and the precious earrings for the most darling Valentine’s day attire. Perfect for a night out or a special dinner.

Hopefully this post has inspired some ideas for your perfect Valentine’s Day outfit. We hope you have a wonderful and special Valentine’s Day with your loved ones.

We would like to give a huge thanks to Bryan Johnston for the photography of this post and Kayla Wilkinson for modeling!

The Black & White Textured Blazer 3 Ways

Hello there! It’s almost the weekend and we are all so excited. After all of the stormy weather we had this week in Chico, CA, blue skies this weekend is going to be such a treat. If you’re looking for a versatile blazer that is perfect for transitioning from the office to a night out, the Black and White Textured Blazer is just the piece for you! We’ve put together three different outfits with the blazer that have different looks such as business casual, a dressed up look, and a casual fit. We hope you enjoy 🙂

When I think of a blazer I immediately think of a business attire look. The Black and White Textured blazer is not your ordinary business blazer, yet has a new and fun spin on it. The lapel of the blazer has a black embroidered circular pattern that pops against a white top.

Flora Grubb Gardens

If you are visiting San Francisco, I can’t recommend Flora Grubb Gardens enough.

This garden is one of the most beautiful places I’ve been in the area and it makes for the perfect weekend adventure. Whether you’re going to purchase some plants, take a gardening class, spark inspiration or grab a cup coffee – it is sure to be a treat.

The entire space is surrounded by greenery which will give you inspiration for your bedroom, living space or outdoor gardens.

Flora Grubb also has the cutest cafe inside called Ritual Coffee. After we spent some time admiring the beautiful plants and succulents, we stepped inside for a latte and homemade Oreo cookie.

We were also greeted by the garden’s resident cat. He was the sweetest thing!

I knew when we decided to visit Flora Grubb that we would be walking and searching for plants, so I wanted to keep my wardrobe casual.

We spent a few hours in the gardens walking around and my Odell booties provided the right amount of support and comfort while still looking cute.

If you have the opportunity to visit Flora Grubb Gardens, it will not disappoint! A wonderful cup of coffee and a beautiful garden makes for relaxing and wonderful Saturday morning.

PB&J Reunion-Mendocino

img_0088So very Thankful for these amazing women!

7 years ago I started PB&J Boutique and with the help of these women (& some not photographed-next year ladies) it has become so much more to me than I could have ever imagined. On this day as we reflect on what we are thankful for, I have to say that I have had the absolute pleasure of working along side some pretty incredible women who have shown me true friendship and I’m so incredibly grateful that each of them are such a big part of my life. They have taught me that there are women in this world that want other women to succeed and that silly girl drama does not need to exist in the work place or in relationships for that matter. When we get together we laugh until our cheeks hurt, cry together and always know that no matter what direction life takes us that we always will be there for one another. We always say we are a little family and it is so very true. This amazing group of ladies are without a doubt some of the most honest, kind, fun and smart precious souls I know. I am so beyond grateful for the friendships each and every one of them have shown me. I love you ladies so much and thank you for bringing so much joy to our PB&J Fam!

Here is a little peak into our girls trip to Mendocino. We had an amazing stay at one of the most charming towns on this planet. For those of you who haven’t been, you need to! Mendocino is a place of pure beauty where you can get out doors and simply relax.

The first night we arrived we were lucky enough to make it in to town by sunset! We all took a stroll through Headlands State Park and the view was just phenomenal. The crisp fresh air in Mendocino is just one of a kind paired with the relaxing sounds of the waves.

During our weekend trip we stayed in a beautiful cottage that had an ocean front view. Every morning waking up to the sun rise over the ocean was so peaceful and relaxing.

We also had a few little deer friends that liked to watch the view with us.

Another fun part about Mendocino is all of the cute little shops that they have down town. We spent an entire day shopping our little hearts out. To top our afternoon off we ate lunch at a cute little place called Flow Restaurant and Lounge. The view from here was just breathtaking and the food was super yummy!

We made sure to make it back to our cozy cottage just in time for the sunset on Saturday evening. The lighting was just perfect for photo’s. After a long day of shopping, relaxing and watching the sunset on the coast was just what we needed.

We all shared so many giggles, reminisced a bit and made so many new memories.

With a view like that in our backyard we never wanted the weekend to end. Looking forward to our next reunion already!

MOMA Visit

Hello lovelies! We hope you had a wonderful week and are ready for this upcoming weekend. We were so lucky to have one of PB&J’s former girls, Kayla and her boyfriend Bryan shoot these awesome shots! They visited the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) which is located on 151 3rd St, San Francisco, CA. It is a must to visit. Here’s what they had to say about it:

The MOMA recently reopened this year after a three-year long expansion and it did not disappoint

One of our favorites from the museum was the living wall.

The wall is filled with greenery and succulents spanning 4,400 square feet wide and 30 feet tall. It’s the largest in the United States.

Another must-see is the Anthony Hernandez exhibit which is open now through January 1, 2017. This L.A. photographer captures black and white, and color photography from the 70’s and 80’s. Shot with 35mm to large-format cameras, his photography is a candid look into the streets of L.A., Rome and Italy. He vividly captures the lives of working/middle class, homeless and the beauty in everyday lives.

Behind the Scenes Photoshoot

Fall has arrived and we couldn’t be more excited about it here at PB&J Boutique. We have so many new arrivals coming in daily. One of our favorite parts of getting new clothing, is putting together trendy new outfits.

Every week we are constantly coming together and sharing our ideas to come up with the cutest photo ideas for our social media pages. Be sure to follow us on Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook to stay up to date with all of our fun new posts.

As some of you may know, almost all photography for PB&J Boutique is done by Diane Nicole’s photography. She just recently moved into her new studio and we were lucky enough to be one of the firsts to shoot in it.

With the holiday season just around the corner, we have put together one of our biggest photo shoots this year for our new lookbook! We are just so excited about how lovely it turned out and couldn’t resist but to share some sneak peak footage of the shoot!

Photo Shoot Flashback

Over the past couple of years we have had so much fun with our fashion photo shoots. We have been all over California in order to get such a wide range of different locations. We have decided to dedicate this blog post to some of our favorite past photo shoots as a type of “flashback” for you all to enjoy :).

One of our favorite group photo shoots was shot at Scotty’s boat launch, located on the Sacramento river. This is a great location for tubers to jump on the river and float during the warm summer days!

Here in Chico, California there are many historic landmarks throughout the city. We had the opportunity to shoot at the Stansbury Home which was built in 1883. It was incredible to have such a vintage feel with this photo shoot.

Monterey is such a beautiful location to shoot at. The white sand beach and the crystal clear turquoise water made the perfect background. Here we were going for a more “gypsy” look, with lace hemlines and silk pieces.

We love working with our very own photographer Diane Nicole, who shoots the majority of our photo shoots. This was shot at Diane’s studio which is now located on 426 Broadway in Chico. It is such a fun time working with Diane and we can always look forward to sharing some giggles together!

One of our more adventurous photo shoots took place in Morgan Hill. We had the opportunity to shoot with a friend… Bailey the horse. Shooting here was a tremendous amount of fun!

We were really going for a more western look with the cowgirl boots and studded belts. Of course we had to add a girly touch with the flower head pieces!

What better place to travel to then San Francisco? Cara Loren was able to join us on this photo shoot that took place in Union Square.

This lovely photo shoot took place in our very own town of Chico, California. We were lucky enough to shoot on campus in the CSU Chico State University Library.View More:

For one of our summer photo shoots we were able to visit the Durham House Inn which was just gorgeous. The luscious green scenery was the perfect touch to the outdoor summer feel we were going for.

We are so excited for our upcoming photo shoot this weekend. Be sure to visit our blog next week for some behind the scene footage. Have a wonderful weekend!
