We’re so excited that our new shop is coming together so quickly! We’ve been busy redesigning and remodeling our new space and can’t wait to show you the end result! Below are a few progress pictures so you can see what we’ve been up to!
Our amazing contractor Terry, from Complete Home Repair, built us this wall for our back stock and the dressing rooms! Of course we’ve added a touch of vintage to it and look forward to showing it to you all when we open our doors.
SO EXCITED about the shiplap wall for our photography studio!
We’re loving the new Camellia Courtyard sign on the top of the building! Thank you Signs & Graphic Design!!
Walls for the dressing rooms coming together and being painted!!
Our new office will be HUGE!!
Love all the natural light that we now have!!
The floors turned out beautiful. A BIG thank you to Mike & Ken at Carpet One for making things work for our 100 year old building.
For those of you that aren’t from Chico, CA; PB&J’s new home will be located in the historical building that was built for Christian & Johnson Co. back in 1913 and has significant ties to the founders of Chico. Annie Bidwell’s gardner, Mr. F.G Peterson was the founder of C&J and the one whom built our new home so many years ago. We sit nestled amongst so much goodness we can hardly stand it! Down town is literally across the bridge, Chico State is a short few blocks away, the Bidwell Mansion is down the street, Big Chico Creek is next to our building and the start of charming Bidwell Park is on the other side of Vallombrosa Ave. We love the history of Chico and are so excited to be nestled in the middle of it all.
We will be opening our doors early August so stay tuned!! Also keep your eye out for a site wide sale happening soon!

I hope you enjoyed some of our PB&J Holiday Decor!
After the holidays my home always feels a bit empty after having all the decorations up from Halloween then Christmas. Along with Northern California having a crazy cold spell I have been really missing all the greenery from the outdoors too. So, I have a solution to my problems. Having a love for gardening I have discovered my home always feels more happy when adding some plants planted in fun ways. A do it your self apothecary terrarium is a great way to add a little something to your home.
For a complete how to go here: http://blog.westelm.com/2012/04/17/mothers-day-terrarium-by-nicole-balch-of-making-it-lovely/
In addition to terrariums here are a few unique ideas I found on Pintrest for bringing the outdoors in:
I may need to be on the hunt for a fun bird bath. This is such a fabulous idea!
Different shapes and sized vases with a simple fern leaf can add a pop of color to a mantle or shelf.
If you are able to get outdoors and are feeling a little adventurous a must see place that is located in Northern California is Fern Canyon. It is located in Humbolt County in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. It is a winding little canyon that is covered in ferns on each side of the canyon walls. It truly is an amazing place and reminds me of how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful state.

In honor of Fair Trade Month I decided to make a coffee candle.
Fair Trade is important because it ensures coffee growers in developing countries receive a higher fair price for their product. This allows for a higher standard of living for struggling coffee producers. The Fair trade movement also promotes sustainable practices to keep ecosystems happy.
I enjoy a caffeine kick from a cup of coffee. In fact, the aroma alone helps me get through the day.
Here are directions for a DIY Coffee Candle:
1. Materials needed:
1 candle, fair trade beans, wick, and mason jar.
2. Melt wax in a pot or double boiler. 3.) Place wick in jar and pour beans in the bottom.
4. Once the wax is liquid pour over beans. Make sure you hold the wick up.
5. Get a bowl of cold water to speed up cooling time.
6. Remove any excess wax on the jar.
7. Enjoy your new yummy smelling candle!
With Fall finally here so are the pumpkins and other harvest related decor. With this being my favorite time of year I try and find ways to change up the average carved pumpkin. Every year I purchase a Martha Stewart magazine and attempt to recreate some of the ideas she has dreamed up. Here are a few creative ways to decorate your table and your yard with some fabulously dressed up pumpkins. Check out more ideas here: http://www.marthastewart.com
Another popular trend is cloth pumpkins that come in array of colors and sizes. I have been a big fan of the velvet pumpkins made by an artist out of Oregon and have been adding to my collection for a couple of years now. They are gorgeous and make a great addition to your table arrangement from October through Thanksgiving. A wonderful shop in Chico, CA called Frolic carries them. You can find them at 8th & Main Antique Center on the corner of Main and 8th Street. Here is a link to her FaceBook page to view some of the many treasures she has. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Frolic/138951309464519?ref=ts&fref=ts
Happy Fall and I hope you enjoy the many changing colors that this season brings!
