The Spring Lookbook: Behind the Scenes

We are getting ready for Spring!

The blossoming flowers, warm weather, and fresh air, it truly is the season for renewal. As the vibrant flowers come to life it is easy to be inspired by nature. Living in Chico, we enjoy a variety of rich vegetation. Along Bidwell Park there are flowering Camillea trees blossoming in all variations of pink including, baby pink, orchid, and vibrant coral. All of these shades can be used for the cheeks, lips, and eyes.

We shot our Spring Lookbook last weekend and wanted to share with you the products that make-up artist, Hilary Bryant used to create luminous skin, pink lips, and natural eyes. A big thank you to Hilary Bryant (@makeupbyhilaryb) and photographer Diane Clifford (@dianenicolephoto) for making the photo-shoot a success. We couldn’t have done it without these ladies talent and positive energy!

Here are some behind the scene photos showcasing the products Hilary used to create the looks.

Darker hues were used for Claire’s medium complexion. Lancome’s Blush Subtil in Shimmer Pink Pool was applied to the apple’s of her cheeks and was topped with a generous amount of The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer. Natural hues were used on her eyes and just a touch of liner was used on the upper eyelid. A generous amount of Show Orchid from Mac’s Pro Lip Palette was used to create a custom pink shade and was topped with Stila’s Lip Glaze.

On Maddy a light ethereal make-up look was achieved. Hilary used the Blush Subtil in Shimmer Pink Fling and used the Mary-Lou Manizer on the cheekbones. Light pink eyeshadow was used in order to let the lips and cheeks shine. A custom lip color was created using the Pro Lip Palette, which consisted of a generous amount of Pretty Please.

Although pink can liven the face and create a fresh youthful appearance, it can also be hard to find the correct shade. Take into account your complexion and the undertones in your skin. For help, follow Hilary on Instagram for tips and tricks @makeupbyhilaryb. Using The Balm’s Mary-Lou Highlighter and Mac’s Pro Lip Palette in 6 Preferred Pinks makes creating a fresh customized look easy.

We can’t wait to share with you our Spring Lookbook! We will be keeping you posted.

Have a wonderful weekend,

~Claire
