I have been admiring my roommate and best friend Hayley! She has a knack for finding the perfect gift for everyone on her list. She is so crafty when it comes to making the perfect gift for a busy mom. She has created the perfect homemade cookbook.
Mother’s Day is a day for everyone to thank their mom or special person in their life. Usually flowers, chocolate, or jewelry a way to say thank you. Christmas time is the holiday to make your mom feel special and give her what she wants. Mom’s make sure everything is taken care of. They are the family therapist, referee, chauffeur, and cook. Mom’s are busy people and while we perceive our moms as having superpowers they do run out of time and need help occasionally.
They can make the best cookies, however the recipe can be found in a jumbled mess. How many of us have heard, “if I could just find that recipe.” Whether your mom uses an ancient file for organization, or if its just thrown in a drawer, compiling all her favorite recipes into her own cookbook is perfect!
Here are the steps for making the perfect homemade cookbook:
1.) Re-type all recipes that are not bound in a cookbook.
2.) Print out the recipes.
3.) Alphabetize and categorize recipes.
4.) Purchase transparent 3 hole paper holders, place the recipes in holders. (They will protect the recipe from any flying cake batter).
5.) Place all the recipes in a 3 ring binder.

I am so excited to see Hayley’s finished homemade cookbook. She plans to cover the cookbook with red checkered paper with her mom name across the top. To complete her present she has picked out PB&J’s Lace Cami in Biking Red to match the 3-D Toil Front Apron from Anthropolgie to complete her present.
